what are we to make?

What are we to make of the nation we inhabit today, nosotros de los Estados Unidos?

Indiscriminate, mass murders of children, women, and men of all ages in Palestine procured daily by the value reaped from our labor, wrought before our eyes in vivid detail, violently gnashing at the souls of the caring and observant, dismissed and repressed as a nuisance by all others. The cursed pacification of ignorance available only to those whose immense privilege or whose basic needs for self and family monopolize their attentions.

The narrower milieu of the former also blessed by choice, but half or more squander it in the temptation of the tech-neo-feudal, parasocial attention economy, in misguided, uninformed, and flashed-before-your-eyes views on history, engaging in an antagonism of ideals through narrative manipulation campaigns of those with amassed capital, and in the cancerous systems of identity politics, xenophobia, racism, idolatry, and hatred.

Contradictions; the dissonance between the primal desires for community - our innate instincts to care, and the imposed means of survival in a society of consumerist excess slowly feast on our well being, unceremoniously excreting grotesque pebbles of wishful thinking and false belonging.

Contradictions; wherein we can cover our fears, for now, with the blankets of imported materialism.

Contradictions; the unrelenting growth of the rift between objective truth and collective fiction.

The chickens will come home to roost.
